Assistant Professor, Senior Researcher - Cooperative Institute for Marine Resources Studies, Oregon State University
Specialty: Theoretical Ecology
Research Interests: My research interests embrace a vast array of topics in theoretical ecology and include modeling of biological systems and processes, spatial and temporal population and community dynamics, ecosystem ecology and evolutionary biology. My current projects focus on population dynamics of commercially exploited fish species in the Northeast Pacific Ocean and fisheries stock assessment, with the ultimate goal to improve current assessment techniques. I am exploring how environmental variability affects fish spatial dynamics and how we can incorporate fish behavior and distribution into stock assessment methods. I am also developing a stock assessment for the Longnose skate, Raja rhina.
