Jessica A. Miller
Assistant Professor, Marine Fisheries Ecologist
Year Hired: 2006
Organizations and Affiliations: Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station
Specialty: Ecology and early life history of marine and anadromous fishes, otolith microstructure and chemistry.
Research Interests: I am interested in the ecology and evolution of life history diversity in fishes and the development and maintenance of that diversity. My research has focused on larval dispersal and transport, population connectivity and structure, and the use of estuaries by larval and juvenile marine and anadromous fishes. I combine techniques including otolith microchemistry, genetic, and time-series analyses, to provide novel information on these topics. I am interested in continuing to use diverse methods to address basic questions in fish ecology, while also providing information critical for management and conservation efforts.
