The Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries & Wildlife Science offers flexibility. The undergraduate curriculum is composed of a core and a Specialization which the student designs according to individual interests and goals. Each student designs their own Specialization to complement the basic science and social science core. With the guidance of a faculty advisor, diverse advanced offerings are selected by the student. Required internships and a senior "group project" also can be developed to support individual educational goals. Some sample Specializations might include:
Large Mammal Ecology
Fisheries Management
Stream Ecology
Endangered Species Conservation
Fish & Wildlife Law Enforcement
Habitat Restoration
Avian Ecology
Marine Biology
Aquaculture
Environmental Education
........many others are possible.
Students can choose to spend one term at the Hatfield Marine Science Center, an extended campus facility located in Newport, where we have courses emphasizing the marine environment.
