Research

My research interests are an interdisciplinary blend of conservation biology, marine ecology and applied ecological modeling. I combine both the use of field, laboratory techniques and applied quantitative methods when undertaking my research. Recently, I’ve completed my Ph.D. focusing on the monitoring and searching performance for an invasive seastar in Victoria, Australia. This project takes a scientific evidence-based approach to marine management where I’ve focused on evaluating resource allocation, validation of citizen science and measuring detection strategies.
