The Oregon Chapter
of the Wildlife Society offers four $500 scholarships per year which
are awarded at the Chapter's annual meeting. Application deadline is 7
January of each year. Applicants must be a member of either the
state chapter or national Wildlife Society (membership applications
may accompany scholarship application). Scholarships categories and
application procedures are as follows:

Outstanding
Undergraduate Research Project $500 will be awarded to
the best undergraduate research project based on originality and
scientific rigor. To apply submit application form and 3 copies
of research proposal or research paper.

Kathy
Johnson Memorial Outreach Scholarship $500
will be awarded to a nontraditional undergraduate or post-baccalaureate
student. This award is intended to foster diversity within the
Society, and will be awarded based on academic performance. Nontraditional
students include minorities, students with disabilities, older
returning students, single parents, or students making a career
shift into natural resources. To apply, submit application form
and a letter outlining why you are an atypical student.

Outstanding
New Graduate Student Scholarship $500
will be awarded to a graduate student in his/her first year of
graduate study. Awards will be based on academic qualifications
and research proposal. To apply, submit application form, 3 copies
of research proposal, and letter of support from your major professor.

Advanced
Graduate Student Scholarship $500
will be awarded to an advanced graduate student for academic standing
and excellence in research. To apply, submit application form,
letter of support from major professor, and evidence of research
productivity (reprints of published articles or manuscripts in
preparation).
