Effects of Oceanographic Factors on Larval Dispersal of Rockfish (genus Sebastes spp.) and the Efficient Design of Marine Reserves
How fish larvae get from where they are born to where they settle and grow is a perplexing yet important question in fisheries management and marine reserve design. My research will examine the effects of oceanographic processes, particularly nearshore currents and upwelling patterns, on the genetic connectivity between Oregon and Washington Coast, including Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.
