PACIFIC LAMPREY

Pacific lamprey

David Noakes

Latin name: Lampetra tridentata

The pacific lamprey is experiencing significant decline by our surveys conducted over its range. The seminal work has lead to a recovery plan developed by the Fisheries and Wildlife Service.  Further research has led to the characterization of habitat needs, an important part of any recovery plan, for juvenile and adult lamprey. This work was done in cooperation with several confederated Native American tribes.
