• My research focuses on using advanced telemetry tools to study the underwater behavior of marine mammals.
• I am interested in how the foraging behavior of marine mammals is affected by changes in their environment, including climate change and ocean noise, across a range of their habitats.
• My primary research sites include the Antarctic Peninsula, Alaska, and California.

I am interested in understanding how the behavior of marine mammals relates to changes in their environment.  I am particularly interested in the feeding behavior of baleen whales and species-specific differences in feeding strategies and how changes in prey type affect behavior.  I am also keenly interested in understanding how anthropogenic disturbances (e.g. ocean noise, sonar) affect marine mammals.  I have multi-disciplinary and long-term research programs using tag technology to study cetaceans in Antarctica, Alaska, California, and Cape Cod.
